A game plan that cuts through the noise
Market Access & Reputation-Building
White Rook Advisory supported this client in its market-access goals in a state-guarded sector through a tailored strategy that focused on building mutually-beneficial outcomes for both the client and its target audience.
White Rook Advisory supported this client in its market-access goals in a state-guarded sector through a tailored strategy that focused on building mutually-beneficial outcomes for both the client and its target audience. This was supported by reliable intelligence on local and regional policy developments, responsible advocacy and on-the-ground stakeholder engagement. Today, the client has grown from an unknown entity in this market to a trusted solutions provider supporting the broader national goals of this Southeast Asian market. From this foundation, the client is now poised to make progress in other key Southeast Asian markets.
From Safeguarding Licence to Operate to Turnkey Solutions
White Rook Advisory works with this trade association in a sector that is surprisingly politicised and controversial. Covering multinationals across 22 markets in the Asia Pacific region, the work here covers cross-cutting issues spanning marketing and labelling, food safety and integrity, and intellectual property rights. Against a chorus of voices that constantly seeks to constrict our clients’ licence to operate, we engage with stakeholders from governments to professional associations, non-governmental organisations and the media to bring fresh perspectives, supported by credible data and proof points. We also built a coalition of support to bring some balance to the discourse and demonstrate the value of taking a multi-stakeholder approach. We provide a turnkey service for our client, from the management and operation of the trade association to advocacy and reputation management, as well as providing counsel and guidance to bring our clients to a common position.
Supporting Economic Reform
In partnership with an international financial institution (IFI), White Rook Advisory has worked with a government in the Indochina region over the past two years on its economic reform strategy. This involves working not just with government stakeholders but across the value chain with smallholders, cooperatives, traders and enterprises to identify critical gaps and needs to better inform policymaking. Other than navigating barriers to trade, our counsel is focused on strengthening risk management and enhancing internal capacity to boost trade and investment. We also work closely with these stakeholders to future-proof policies. Phase I culminated in a capacity-building workshop for officials dealing with investment promotion. Now in Phase II, we are working to support the government in crafting its next five-year plan.
